The event we’ve all been waiting for is here: Camp Trip Records’ first release just dropped, courtesy of none other than the mighty Airglo. Well known for his production skills and ability to work in a wide range of styles, he presents three deep cuts that showcase his unique style and put the Camp Trip ethos to music.

Opening with a meandering melody that draws you in, the huge atmospherics in “Machine” quickly descend on the listener. Before you’re ready, the overwhelming heaviness of the drop lands with an intense wobble that shakes the body to the core. Featuring the vocal talents of CXC, the song is a masterful blend of blissful soundscapes backed by belting horns. With its outro breakdown, the track fleshes-out both the artist and label’s commitment to uniting as many diverse elements of bass music as possible.

The vibe-heavy “You (feat Kaja)” comes at us next, with its steady driving rhythms and dynamic tension. The hypnotic bassline leads the drums nicely, creating a rising and falling sensation with ease. Alternating between a restrained hat section and a hi-speed one creates an intensifying effect, especially in the second drop, which evokes the feeling of launching into cyberspace. Combined with the depth the vocals bring to the track, this one is destined to be an anthem in no time.

Changing gears completely, Airglo and Stash the Groove Bug bring out their deep dub weapons and give an intense workout-of-a-track called “Boom.” Filled with jungle-y breaks, menacing basslines, and a bouncing rhythm, it hails back to the beginnings of DnB while at the same time blending it with a myriad of new styles. The ambient break slowly intensifies, twisting all the previous elements into a rolling banger. It’s a “tour de force” of a track that pushes into new territory and makes a lasting impact.
